Anadolu’da Düşüncenin Yolculuğu: Felsefenin Mekânsal Tarihi

Abstract

Antik Yunan felsefesi, felsefe tarihinin başlangıcı ve felsefi düşüncenin en saf biçimde ortaya çıktığı dönem olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu dönemde etkin olan birçok filozofun Anadolu coğrafyasında yaşamış, üretmiş ve seyahat etmiş olması, felsefenin bu topraklardaki tarihsel serüveninin bütüncül biçimde ele alınmasını gerekli kılmaktadır. Buna karşın Türkiye’de felsefe literatüründe, Anadolu’da gelişen felsefi düşüncenin mekânsal, toplumsal ve kültürel bağlamlarıyla birlikte ele alındığı; harita, görsel materyal ve açık erişimli arşivlerle desteklenen sistematik çalışmaların sınırlı olduğu görülmektedir. Bu proje, Antik Çağ’dan başlayarak Anadolu topraklarında felsefenin izlediği güzergâhı, bu güzergâhta yer alan filozofları ve onların düşüncelerini mekân, toplum ve kültür bağlamında incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Projenin özgün değeri, felsefi düşünceyi yalnızca metinsel ve soyut bir etkinlik olarak değil, içinde üretildiği maddi mekânlar ve toplumsal koşullar ile ilişkisi içinde ele almasıdır. Bu bağlamda proje, felsefe literatüründe yaygın olan metin merkezli yaklaşımın ötesine geçerek, felsefenin Anadolu’daki serüvenini haritalandırma, görselleştirme ve arşivleme yoluyla somutlaştırmayı hedeflemektedir. Bu yönüyle proje, Türkiye’de felsefe alanında ilk kez kapsamlı bir “düşünce atlası” oluşturmayı amaçlamaktadır. Projenin yöntemsel çerçevesi üç temel aşamadan oluşmaktadır. İlk aşamada, yurtiçi ve yurtdışı literatür taraması yapılarak Anadolu’da felsefe açısından önem taşıyan merkezler, güzergâhlar ve bu topraklarda yaşamış filozoflar tespit edilecektir. İkinci aşamada, belirlenen merkezlerde saha çalışmaları gerçekleştirilecek; tarihsel mekânlara ilişkin güncel fotoğraflar çekilecek, yerleşimlerin antik ve güncel adları tespit edilecek ve bu mekânların tarihsel, toplumsal ve kültürel özellikleri belgelenecektir. Üçüncü aşamada ise filozoflara ilişkin içerik analizi yapılarak, onların düşüncelerinin mekân ve toplum ile ilişkisi ortaya konulacak; elde edilen tüm veriler harita, görsel materyal ve metinlerle bütünleştirilecektir. Proje yönetimi, disiplinlerarası bir iş bölümü esasına dayanmaktadır. Proje ekibinde yer alan araştırmacılar, belirlenen filozoflar ve güzergâhlar doğrultusunda sorumluluk alacak; literatür taraması, saha çalışması, görsel belgeleme ve içerik analizi süreçleri eşgüdüm içinde yürütülecektir. Çalışma takvimi, iş paketleri ve ara çıktılar doğrultusunda düzenli değerlendirmeler yapılacak ve proje süreci şeffaf biçimde yönetilecektir. Projenin temel çıktıları, Anadolu’da felsefenin izlediği güzergâhı harita, görsel materyal ve metinlerle sunan bir Düşünce Atlası ile bu süreçte üretilen tüm verilerin yer alacağı açık erişimli dijital bir arşiv olacaktır. Bu çıktılar, felsefe eğitimi alan öğrenciler, akademisyenler ve genel kamuoyu için önemli bir kaynak oluşturacaktır. Proje, felsefi düşüncenin mekân ve toplumla ilişkisini görünür kılarak hem ulusal hem de uluslararası düzeyde felsefe tarihi çalışmalarına özgün bir katkı sunmayı amaçlamaktadır.

Ancient Greek philosophy is widely regarded as the starting point of the history of philosophy and as the period in which philosophical thinking emerged in its purest form. The fact that many philosophers of this period lived, produced, and traveled within the geographical boundaries of Anatolia necessitates a comprehensive examination of the historical trajectory of philosophy in these lands. However, the existing philosophical literature in Türkiye largely lacks systematic studies that address philosophical thought in Anatolia together with its spatial, social, and cultural contexts, supported by maps, visual materials, and open-access archives. This project aims to examine the routes followed by philosophy in Anatolia from Antiquity onward, the philosophers who lived along these routes, and their ideas within the context of space, society, and culture. The originality of the project lies in its approach to philosophical thought not merely as an abstract and textual activity, but as a practice deeply embedded in the material spaces and social conditions in which it emerged. By moving beyond text-centered approaches dominant in philosophical studies, the project seeks to visualize and concretize the philosophical journey in Anatolia through mapping, visual documentation, and archival practices. In this respect, the project aspires to produce one of the first comprehensive “thought atlases” in the field of philosophy in Türkiye. Methodologically, the project is structured in three main phases. In the first phase, an extensive review of national and international literature will be conducted to identify philosophically significant centers, routes, and philosophers associated with Anatolia. In the second phase, fieldwork will be carried out in the identified locations; contemporary photographs of historical sites will be taken, ancient and modern place names will be documented, and the historical, social, and cultural characteristics of these locations will be recorded. In the third phase, content analysis will be conducted on the philosophers’ works in order to examine the relationship between their ideas and the spatial and social contexts in which they developed. All collected data will then be integrated through maps, visual materials, and analytical texts. Project management is based on an interdisciplinary and collaborative structure. Researchers involved in the project will be assigned responsibilities according to specific philosophers and routes. Literature review, fieldwork, visual documentation, and content analysis will be conducted in coordination. The project timeline will be organized according to work packages and milestones, and the research process will be monitored through regular evaluations to ensure transparency and efficiency. The primary outputs of the project will be a Thought Atlas that presents the philosophical routes of Anatolia through maps, visual materials, and analytical texts, and an open-access digital archive that will host all data produced throughout the project. These outputs will serve as valuable resources for philosophy students, scholars, and the wider public. By making visible the relationship between philosophical thought, space, and society, the project aims to make a significant and original contribution to both national and international studies in the history of philosophy.
