Abstract

In this paper, a speeding up technique integrated into the lossless anisotropic (Lossless-ANI) algorithm based on the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is discussed. The algorithm is applied to a microstrip line-fed patch antenna (MPA) with anisotropic substrate. Numerical results demonstrate that the anisotropy in the substrate effects the resonant frequencies of the MPA. The speeding up technique reduces the required computation time of the Lossless-ANI algorithm.
