Osmanlı'dan Cumhuriyet'e Psikoloji İlminin Tarihî Gelişimi ve Mustafa Şekip Tunç

Abstract

Psikoloji ilmi insanlık tarihinin başlangıcından beri bu isimle anılmasa da içeriğini oluşturan düşünme, algılama ve hissetme gibi soyut süreçlerden dolayı insanlığın hayatı içerisinde var olan bir bilim dalıdır. Bilim tarihi boyunca farklı isimler ya da farklı ilim dalları bünyesinde var olmuş ve temelde insanı ruhsal ve zihinsel yönleriyle anlamaya çalışan bir ilim dalı olagelmiştir. 19. yüzyıldan sonra da modern bir hüviyete bürünerek bilim tarihinde yerini almıştır. Medeniyetin olduğu her insan topluluğu, felsefe, sosyoloji, psikoloji vs. sahalarında farklı isimler altında çalışmalar yapmıştır. Türkler de kurmuş oldukları devletlerde sayılan alanlarla ilgilenmiş ve bu alanlara çeşitli katkılar sunmuştur. Bu çalışmanın tarihsel kısmını oluşturan Osmanlı Devleti ve Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devleti'ndeki bilim tarihinde ise psikoloji ilmi üzerine çalışan aydınlar, bu aydınların psikoloji ilmi üzerine olan düşünceleri ve vermiş oldukları eserler ele alınmış tüm bunlar tarihsel süreç içerisinde değerlendirilmiştir. Osmanlı Devleti'nin son yıllarında ise psikoloji ilminin modern bir hüviyete kavuşma sürecinden bahsedilmiştir. Türk bilim tarihinde psikoloji ilmi üzerine çalışmalar yapmış âlimlerinin isimlerine kısaca değinilen bu çalışmada, Osmanlı Devleti tarihi boyunca bu meyanda yapılan çalışmaları işleyerek psikoloji ilminin Türk bilim tarihindeki serüveni incelenecektir. Türk psikoloji tarihinin dönüm noktalarından olan Mustafa Şekip Tunç, Türk bilim tarihinde psikoloji ilminin modern bir hüviyete kavuşmasındaki rolüyle ele alınarak psikoloji alanındaki çalışmaları değerlendirilip modern psikoloji ilmine olan katkıları araştırılmış ayrıca hayatı ve akademik çalışmaları modern psikoloji ilmi bakımından değerlendirilmiştir.

Although the science of psychology has not had any literature with this name since the beginning of human history, it is a branch of science exists in the life of humanity due to the abstract concepts such as thinking and feeling that constitute its content. After the 19th century, it took on a modern identity and took its place in the history of science. Every human community where there is civilization, philosophy, sociology, psychology etc. He has worked in different fields under different names. Turks were also interested in the fields. In the history of science in the Ottoman Empire and Republic of Türkiye, which constitutes the historical part of this study, the intellectuals who worked on the science of psychology, the thoughts of these were evaluated within the historical process. In the last years of the Ottoman Empire, the process of the science of psychology gaining a modern identity was mentioned. In our thesis, which we will start by briefly mentioning the names of the scholars who have done studies on the science of psycholohgy in the history of Turkish science, the adventure of the science of psychology in the history of Turkish science will be examined by examining the studies carried out in this field throughout the history of the Ottoman Empire, Mustafa Şekip Tunç, one of the turning points in the history of Turkish psychology, is discussed with his works in the field of psychology are evaluated, his contributions to the science of modern psychology are researched, and his life and academic works are evaluated in terms of modern psychology.
