Abstract
Folkloric products, which manifest themselves as a living cultural material with the emergence of humanity, reflect the culture of the society they belong to, and take on different functions by being shaped according to the needs and expectations of the individuals of that society. Traditional cultural products, which are in a state of constant change and transformation, are shaped by science and technology, easily adapting to the era in which they live, and thus, they can protect their field of existence. In the light of the conditions required by the age, it has become possible to come across traditional culture and practices related to them in computer, internet and social media environments. Many folk scientific materials, from transitional practices to folk beliefs, from folk calendar to folk medicine practices, have found a place for themselves on the internet by finding a new living space. In this context, Turkish cinema has become a wide platform where the cultural identity of the society is processed. With the Yeşilçam generation, an orientation towards common cultural values began and it was aimed to reflect the traditional. In this study, the determination and evaluation of Zeki Alasya and Metin Akpınar's 14 films in terms of folk culture elements were examined according to the 'Village-City Monography' study plan of Sedat Veyis Örnek. Keywords: Zeki Alasya, Metin Akpınar, Tradition, Folklore, Cinema
