| dc.description.abstract | Diamane, or two-dimensional Diamond, is an allotrope of carbon obtained from bilayer graphene through surface chemical adsorption or high-pressure technology. Diamane can be used as an emitter layer in solar cells, due to its tunable band gap, high light absorption coefficient and high carrier mobility. In this study, the ITO/Diamane/ p-cSi/Ag structure in which Diamane is used as the emitter layer is examined. Since the optical and electronic properties of Diamane vary depending on the functional group used in its fabrication and its direction, simulations are performed for the zigzag and armchair directions of Hydrogenated Diamane and Fluorinated Diamane. However, the device performance of the solar cell is obtained very low for the F-diamane zigzag direction, and the simulation results are not included in the study. The highest power conversion efficiency is obtained as 23.73 % from the ITO/n-F-diamane Armchair/p-cSi/Ag structure. To the best of our knowledge, there is no study in the literature that examines the effects of F-diamane and H-diamane on solar cell performance without neglecting the effects of directions and functional groups used in their fabrication. The temperature-dependent performance of the ITO/n-F-diamane Armchair/p-cSi/Ag structure is examined in the range of 300-450 K and it is observed that the device performance decreased with the increase in temperature. | en_US |
