Abstract
This is a cross-sectional and descriptive study planned to examine the awareness of parents of 3–6-year-old children about toy safety. The sample of the research consisted of 316 parents. Data were collected with the Parent-Child Introductory Characteristics Form and the Parents' Toy Selection and Safety Awareness Determination Form. Ethics committee and institutional permission was obtained before the study, and written consent was obtained from the parents during the study. In this study, it was determined that parents pay more attention to the external appearance of the toy, but they pay less attention to safety issues such as the ingredients of the toy, the manufacturer, and the CE (Conformity of Europe) and TSE (Turkish Standards Institute) markings on the toy. The most basic task that can be done regarding toy safety is to raise awareness in parents and ensure that they gain knowledge and skills on this issue. © 2025, Inonu University. All rights reserved.
